Nahid Tavassoli

I received my Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. In Fall 2025, I will be joining the College of Business at Austin Peay State University as an Assistant Professor of Economics.

My research interests include environmental economics, policy analysis, health economics, women's empowerment, and economics of education. 

I am passionate about exploring the effects of public and environmental policies on local labor markets and the health and well-being of children. My research interests also extend to empowering marginalized populations, including women and underrepresented racial and ethnic groups.
